Call of Duty: Episode 2021 would be a free-to-play according to a leak

While Call of Duty Warzone loosely crosses the 30-million-player threshold, there seems to be a real change of policies underway at Activision home, which would see the company wanting to release a new free-to-play chapter of the famous shooter saga during the coming year.

That the recent battle royale mode was a success is now well established and, as a result, it doesn't seem all that strange that the publisher would want to pursue this path, despite the fact that the whole thing represents a new avenue for the U.S. house.
In any case, rumors about this eventuality have been spread on the net by the youtuber TheGamingRevolution, a very active leaker regarding Activision and the Call of Duty saga and proved to be extremely reliable in the past, when he accurately anticipated several announcements that would be made official by the publisher only some time later.

Despite the fact that there is nothing concrete yet, therefore, speculations of a new Call of Duty free-to-play coming next year appear to be anything but far-fetched, consequently raising several questions about the future of the saga, whose canonical annual schedule could be disrupted.
Indeed, it is unclear how Activision wants to move, and many are wondering whether it will opt for a new canonical paid chapter with a subsequent free-to-play CoD released later (somewhat like what happened this year with Modern Warfare and Warzone) or whether instead all resources will be channeled solely into the free-to-play incarnation of the franchise, probably resulting in an entirely multiplayer title lacking a single-player campaign along the lines of what was done with Call of Duty Black Ops 4.

What do you guys think of the hypothetical scenario outlined by TheGamingRevolution? Would you like to see the Call of Duty saga go to a free-to-play model for good, or would you rather continue to have a paid chapter that includes a campaign?Let us know!
