New World: Amazon MMO's release date pushed back

Without too many surprises, precisely because of the uncertain period we are currently experiencing, many titles whose release date was scheduled for the near future are facing inevitable postponements.
Although smartworking has been widely adopted, many development teams are unable to guarantee the same pace of work under such conditions, and moreover, releasing a game at a time when retail distribution is problematic to say the least could reflect negatively on sales, despite the cushion provided by digital sales.

Be that as it may, to "fall" under the Covid-19 axe today is another title particularly awaited by the community fond of MMOs and derivatives, which unfortunately will have to wait a little longer than expected to get its hands on New World, a promising massive experience in development at Amazon Game Studios.

Initially planned for the upcoming month of May, the survival/MMO will then not be playable until late summer and, more precisely, will open its servers to players starting next August 25.
With a slippage of as much as 3 months, therefore, New World will miss its appointment with the summer vacations, making itself available only at the end of the latter.

"We know how much you have been waiting for the release of New World and we look forward to being able to share the game with you. Despite this, however, the health and safety of our development team remains the top priority.
We hope you can understand our decision to protect our team during these uncertain times while we are focused on meeting a timeline that will allow us to make New World the best game possible."

Despite the disappointment, the development team's reasons seem more than understandable, and given the previous release date, now around the corner, it was more than plausible for the developers to opt for a postponement of the game.

What do you guys think about this situation? Will you buy New World at launch when it becomes available, or will you wait until you hear about the first opinions of specialized critics? Let us know your opinions!
